Life Tables
The Life Table presents age-specific information about mortality of a given population. Other measures in the life table include life expectancy and the median age of death. Both period (current) and cohort (generation) life tables are commonly constructed. In this data set the life tables for 1970, 1980, and 1990 were produced by the National Center for Health Statistics. The life tables for the intervening years (1971-9 and 1981-9) have been produced by GOPB. Projected U.S. life tables were produced by the Census Middle Series. (P25-1130, February 1996.) Utah life tables for 1991 - 2050 have been produced by GOPB. Utah life tables for 2000 and beyond are the survival assumptions used in the provisional 2000 baseline.
