MAYOR LEWIS K. BILLINGS
Mayor Lewis Billings studied engineering, technology and business at Brigham Young University in Provo.  Prior to employment with the City of Provo, he was President and Managing Partner of IDC, an investment partnership specializing in “turn-key” lease facilities for small-to-medium-sized businesses.

Mayor Billings has been active in numerous civic and community organizations including serving as the Chair of the Board of the Provo/Orem Chamber of Commerce, Chair of the Chamber of Commerce Downtown Redevelopment Committee, Chair of the Utah Valley Manufacturers Council, and board member for the Provo School District Foundation, and the Provo District Boy Scouts of American.  He also served on the Utah State Legislative Task Force for Public Access to Government Records and Information and as Chair of the Fourth Judicial Nominating Commission.

Mayor Billings was elected Provo City Mayor after having completed three years as the Chief Administrative Officer and Director of Community Relations.  He has led the city in expanding and building businesses, increasing public safety efforts, downtown redevelopment, major airport improvements, and widespread citizen involvement in government.

He currently serves as the Chair of the Regional Planning Committee for the Mountainlands Association of Governments, which just produced the first consensus documents for transportation improvements in the region.
